TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 THOR HURRICANE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR HOME CHASSIS FAILED AND CAUSED THE RV TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL SEVERAL TIMES TO KEEP THE MOTOR HOME FROM STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR HOME WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V265000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
2008 THOR HURRICANE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ELECTRICAL WIRING RECALL NOTICE ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HAD WORK DONE ON THE RV, DUE TO RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE. PRIOR TO THE WORK BEING DONE, THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE WIRING. HOWEVER, AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE, SHE BEGAN HAVING WIRING ISSUES, POWER LOSS AND BATTERY FAILURES. CORRECTIVE ELECTRICAL WORK HAD TO BE DONE TO REPAIR THE WIRING WORK THAT WAS ORIGINALLY PERFORMED INCORRECTLY AT THE TIME OF THE RECALL NOTICE. ALL OF THE CORRECTIVE EXPENSES WERE PAID AT THE CONSUMERS EXPENSE. WHEN SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT REIMBURSEMENT, THEY STOPPED ANSWERING E-MAILS AND LETTERS AFTER INITIALLY TRYING TO SAY, SHE HAD THE WORK DONE BEFORE THE RECALL AND THEY WERE NOT LIABLE.
