Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2011 Thor Motor Coach Hurricane, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

MY 2014 THOR HURRICAN LOSES WIPER FUNCTIONS WHEN WINDY. I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A MOUNTAIN SIDE ON I-15 OUTSIDE VICTORVILLE DURING A LIGHT/MODERATE RAIN STORM. THE WIND STARTED TO INCREASE WHICH CAUSED THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER ARM TO GO BELOW THE WINDOW AND THE DRIVERS SIDE TO GO PAST ITS NORMAL STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CAUSING THE WIPERS TO CEASE NORMAL OPERATION. I HAD NO WAY OF STOPPING SINCE I COULD NOT SEE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONCE ON LEVEL GROUND I REPOSITIONED THE WIPERS AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE TILL THE NEXT GUST OF WIND AND I WAS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL CONDITION. AGAIN REALIGNED THE WIPERS ONLY THIS TIME I TURNED THE WIPER SWITCH OFF AND ON WHICH TEMPORARILY RESOLVED THE ISSUE. WHEN LOOKING AT THE MOUNTING BRACKET OF THE WIPER MOTOR, I COULD SEE IT BOW DRAMATICALLY DURING THE WIPER SWEEP. CONTACTED THOR AND THEY CLAIM THEY HAD NOT SEEN THIS CONDITION BEFORE AND RECOMMENDE I TAKE IT TO THE CHASSIS DEALER ( HAD RECALLS THAT NEEDED PERFORMING) NO FIX IDENTIFIED BY THOR.

A COUPLE OF CARDBOARD STORAGE BOXES WERE STORED IN AN EXTERIOR STORAGE COMPARTMENT OF OUR RV AND THE STORAGE LIGHT WAS NOT TURNED ON. ARRIVING AT OUR DESTINATION AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER I OPENED THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT TO FIND A HOLE BURNED IN THE STORAGE LIGHT LENS, A BURN MARK ON THE CARDBOARD STORAGE BOX AND THE LIGHT SWITCH COULD NOT BE MOVED TO TURN OFF THE LIGHT (APPEARED TO BE MELTED IN PLACE). I HAD TO REMOVE THE LENS AND BULB. *KB
