1993 Tiffin Allegro Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THERE IS PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL WHICH CAUSES VEHICLE TO WANDER BETWEEN LANES WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THIS IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE WITH OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. DEALERSHIP INFORMED CONSUMER OF A FEW ITEMS THAT COULD RESULT IN THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER, CONSUMER FELS IT IS POWER STEERING BOX WHICH WORE OUT, AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, NOT VARIOUS ITEMS THAT DEALERSHIP IS TELLING HIM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK

DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CONTAIN TWO INDEPENDENT BRAKING SYSTEMS AS REQUIRED BY NTSB, ALSO HAS AN ALLISON AT542 TRANSMISSION WHICH IS FREE WHEELING AND PREVENTS SHIFTING DOWN FOR ENGINE BRAKING, IN THE EVENT OF BRAKE FAILURE THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL BRAKE CAPABILITY PROVIDED DUE TO DESIGN (LACK OF EMERGENCY BRAKE/DESIGN FLAW).
