The drivers side sliding door when on the power on, it will either not catch when opening or not shut when you are trying to shut it. You can be in the door way and it will shut on you by itself. You have to physically stop it or pull it shut. I have taken it in the past to the local Toyota dealership, when it was under warranty, multiple times. They don't see anything wrong, or cannot explain it but have replaced the sensor multiple times. It will be ok for a while and then start again. I sometimes wonder if cold weather affects it but there is no rhythm or reason to it. I am scared to have children or my parents use this door and if I turn off the power to it, it is very hard to use the door because it is so heavy. There are no warning lights, messages, or signals of any kind.

Today I had a crash and luckily walked away. I went down an embankment at speed into trees where the vehicle rolled and struck trees head on. All the vehicle airbags deployed and vehicle came to rest on the drivers side. Although there was electrical power and the engine still running none of the right side doors would open and neither would the rear hatch which was clear of obstruction! Had there been a fire I wouldn't be making this report! Doors need to be operable regardless of situation when none of them are jammed from an accident!

The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80 MPH, the side rail roof rack detached from the vehicle. Additionally, the oil warning light was illuminated. There were no reported injuries. The contact's personal property was damaged during the failure. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Mark Toyota of Plover (1765 Park Ave, Plover, WI 54467) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.

The hood crumples like aluminum foil. The hood rod was holding the hood up and the slightest pressure on the hood made it bend. The hood should NOT bend as easily as it did. The fragility of the hood could cause a serious issue in the event of a crash.

Driver side sliding door stops and reopens when trying to close using power option previous van did the same thing but had a recall. When turning power door option off, it's stopped, doesn't want to budge much and you have to use all of your force to try to close it. This has being going on since 2018 when I bought it but there was no recall so delearship wouldn't touch it.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED AND FAILED TO LATCH. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR RETRACTED WHILE THE CONTACT'S ARM WAS STILL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO JERK HER ARM OUT OF THE VEHICLE, BUT SUSTAINED BRUISES AND SCRAPES TO THE ARM. THE DRIVER REAR DOOR HAS BEEN OPENING WHILE THE CAR IS ON THE ROAD I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY WANT MY TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THEY DON'T WANT TO REPLACE THE DOOR LATCH. THEY TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE POWER DOOR OF BUT THEY PROBLEM STILL OCCUR IT'S VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION I CAN'T EVEN THAT MY KIDS OUT

I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES PER HOUR. MY 'CHECK ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM' WARNING ALARM CAME ON SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY THE: CHECK ENGINE, BATTERY ALARM, COLLISION BREAKING SYSTEM, ETC. I'M CERTAIN THERE WERE MORE ALERTS GOING OFF; HOWEVER I WAS TRYING TO STEER A CAR, THAT HAD LOST POWER OFF THE ROADWAY. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR SAFELY ONTO THE SHOULDER WHERE I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. I COULDN'T TURN THE CAR OFF UNTIL I REALIZED I NEEDED THE CAR TO BE IN PARK. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF I NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I OPENED THE DOOR & GOT MY THREE YEAR OLD SON OUT OF THE CAR & NOTICED MORE BLACK SMOKE. I QUICKLY DISTANCED MYSELF FROM THE VEHICLE & NOTICED FIRE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I CALLED 911 BUT THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITHIN MINUTES.
