1994 Toyota Supra Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1994 Toyota Supra, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

1994 TOYOTA SUPRA LOSS CONTROL WHILE DRIVING ON THE WET PAVEMENT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH COOPER ZEON 2XS TIRES AND THE REAR TIRES HAVE YOKOHAMA AVS ES100. CONSUMER BELIEVES THE PROBLEM IS EITHER THAT THE COOPER TIRES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON WET PAVEMENT IN GENERAL OR THAT THE COMBINATION OF COOPER TIRES AND YOKOHAMA TIRES WHILE DRIVING ON WET PAVEMENT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. *TT *NM

THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING IN THE YEARS 93 - 96 TOYOTA SUPRAS BECOME DULL AND YELLOW AFTER SOME TIME. CONDENSATION ALSO APPEARS IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON MANY TOYOTA SUPRAS AND LEXUS SC'S, NOT ONLY MINE. I HAVE FORWARDED THIS LINK TO AN E-MAIL LIST FOR OTHER SUPRA OWNERS TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM. TOYOTA CURRENTLY HAS NO CAMPAIGNS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION AS WELL AS THE POSSIBILITY OF A SHORT CIRCUIT FROM WATER INSIDE, IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW OF YOUR FINDINGS. REGARDS, JOO-PENG ONG. *AK
