The defect: THE INTERCONNECTING BRAKE AIR LINES BETWEEN THE FOOT OPERATED BRAKE VALVE AND THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM MAY HAVE BEEN CONNECTED TO AN INCORRECT PART OF THE SYSTEM.
The remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND PERFORM THE PROPER CONNECTION OF THE BRAKE AIR LINES.

STEERING:LINKAGES:ARM:IDLER AND ATTACHMENT

The defect: THE MOUNTING BRACKET AND RETAINERS WHICH HOLD THE STEERING IDLER ARM IN PLACE CAN BECOME LOOSE. THE IDLER ARM SUPPORT FASTENER WOULD THEN BE FREE TO MOVE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION, CAUSING THE FASTENERS TO WEAR.
The remedy: DEALER WILL INSTALL A REDESIGNED IDLER ARM MOUNTING ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES.

NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
