2019 Triumph Speed Triple RS Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Motorcycle brakes on the front require being double pumped in order to work properly. Vehicle has been in twice for the concern and the issue persists

THE BRAKE SYSTEM ON THIS MOTORCYCLE IS BREMBO MASTER AND CALIPERS AND ALWAYS REQUIRES A PUMP OF THE LEVER TO PROVIDE PRESSURE. THIS SEEMS IMMUNE TO BLEEDING AS IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CALIPER PISTONS. TRIUMPH IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAS NO REMEDY FOR THE ISSUE OTHER THAN CONTINUING TO BLEED THE SYSTEM IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS CONCERNING AS EMERGENCY BRAKING REQUIRES A FIRM LEVER ON THE FIRST PULL WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE CURRENTLY.

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
