1978 Venture Chelsea Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1978 Venture Chelsea. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

2006 VENTO PHANTOM 4RI SCOOTER SCOOTER HAD ABOUT 600 MILES ON IT (PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW). SUMMARY: ------------------ REAR AXLE NUT CAME OFF ON IT'S OWN BOTH REAR VIEW MIRRORS VIBRATE SO MUCH THAT YOU CANNOT SEE BEHIND YOU WHEN DRIVING FASTER THAN 25 MPH FRONT HEADLIGHT BULBS ARE PRONE TO BURN OUT (28 WATT BULB). BULB IS NOT AVAILABLE IN STORES OR IN MANUFACTURER FOR REPLACEMENT, HARD TO GET PARTS. TOOK TO DEALER FOR FIRST MAINTENANCE SERVICE, DEALER INSPECTED REAR AXLE AND FOUND REAR AXLE NUT WAS MISSING. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SPECIAL LOCKING WASHER NUT THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO COME OFF. MY SUSPICION IS THAT THE EXTREME VIBRATIONS ON THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE BOLT TO WORK IT'S WAY LOOSE. ALSO, WHEN GOING FASTER THAN ABOUT 25 MPH BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE MIRRORS VIBRATE SO MUCH THAT ALL VISION THROUGH THE MIRRORS IS BLURRY. YOU CANNOT SEE VEHICLES BEHIND YOU. *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
