The defect: Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2015-2022 BC900XL brush chipper trailers. The service and maintenance manuals list the incorrect lug nut torque value.
The risk: Improperly tightened lug nuts can result in a loose or detached wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Vermeer will provide a remedy kit with a new manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 11, 2024. Owners may contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051, ext. 7060. Vermeer's number for this recall is IK4561.

Manufacturer communication

They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
