TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 WINNEBAGO BRAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE CALIBER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
BRAKE FAILURE ON 2000 WINNEBAGO MOTORHOME MODEL NUMBER WPF30A VIN #[XXX]. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS TYPE OF BRAKE PROBLEM WITH THE WORKHORSE CHASIS SYSTEM. GENERAL MOTORS REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME MY MODEL IS NOT UNDER RECALL. I HAVE READ THE PROBLEMS ON THE WORKHORSE CHASIS BRAKE RECALL AND I FEEL , I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT PROBLEMS AS THE RECALLED MODELS OUR BRAKES OVERHEATED TO THE POINT OF COMPLETE FAILURE. I FEEL MY MODEL IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALLED MODELS. I FEEL THAT MY WINNEBAGO HAD THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. OUR MECHANIC TOLD US, IF WE CONTINUED WE COULD HAVE HAD A FIRE. I AM ASKING THAT YOU INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER AND NOTIFY US OF THE STATUS OF OUR REQUEST. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND ROLLED BACKWARD WITHOUT WARNING. CONSUMER ADVISED THAT VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION DESIGN DOES NOT INCLUDE A PARKING PAWL, BUT DEPENDS ON THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE. CONSUMER STATED BRAKE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AWAY. MR *NLM *JB *BF
