1988 Winnebago Minnie Winnie Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Fire reported

APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN REGARDS TO THE REFRIGERATOR. WAS UNABLE TO RESPOND TO THE LETTER DUE TO ILLNESS FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF AND THEN AN AMPUTATION. 6/30/05 I TRIED LIGHTING REFRIGERATOR WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE. BURNT WIRES AND BOX IN SERVICE COMPARTMENT. DID NOT TRY TO IGNITE REFRIGERATOR AGAIN. TOOK TO MOTOR HOME DEALER AND THEY CALLED NORCOLD AND THEY SAID IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. HAD REPAIR PERSON CHECK THE PROBLEM AND THEY PUT IN WRITING THAT IT WAS REFERENCED WITH FIRE DAMAGE AND THE RECOMMEND A NEW REFRIGERATOR. WE CALLED NORCOLD AND WINNEBAGO SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK. I WENT TO THE INTERNET AND HAVE BEEN CONTACTING PEOPLE FROM THAT. ONE PERSON SAYS YES IT IS COVER AND THE NEXT PERSON SAYS NO IT WAS NOT ON A RECALL. *JB
