2002 Workhorse P320032 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON VACATION IN OCT. OF 2013, IN OUR 2002 WINNEBAGO SIGHTSEER, ON A WORKHORSE CHASSIS, MADE BY GM, WE PULLED INTO A GAS STATION IN ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA TO GET SOME GAS. WHEN WE WENT TO START THE VEHICLE, NO JUICE TO DASH OR STARTER-WE WERE DEAD IN THE WATER! HAD IT TOWED TO GREENSBORO, NC. AT THE GM RV GARAGE, THEY PUT A NEW IGNITION SWITCH IN, AND SAID THAT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE WORKHORSE RV. WE SPENT $600.00 OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET ! WE ALSO HAD TO STAY THERE FOR 3 DAYS OUT OF OUR TRIP. FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED WITH NAPA PART # KS6805. *TR

IGNITION SWITCH MELTED,STRANDING MY WIFE AND I IN THE ENTRANCE OF A KOA. MOTOR HOME WAS LOCKED DOWN, BRAKES WOULDN'T RELEASE TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD. CALLED GOOD SAM CLUB, A MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO HOT WIRE THE COMPUTER AND GET US OFF THE ROAD. THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH A WIRING KIT UPDATE I HAD TO PURCHASE. WORK HORSE KNEW OF THE PROBLEM PRIOR TO 2004 WHEN A CORRECTION MEMO WAS WRITTEN. AFTER 3 DAYS AND A COST OF 754 DOLLARS THE MOTOR HOME IS ON THE ROAD AGAIN. *TR

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
