2001 Workhorse P320042 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE PARK-BRAKE AND PARK HAS FAILED TWICE ON MY 2001 MOTOR HOME ON A WORKHORSE CHASSIS. THE FIRST TIME UNDER WARRANTY AT 25,784 MILES AND THE SECOND AT 43,634. THE VEHICLE FREELY ROLLS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP IT FROM ROLLING EXCEPT TO BLOCK THE TIRES. THIS MH HAS A GVW OF 18,000 POUNDS. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ROLLING FREELY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 WINNEBAGO ITASCA SUN CRUISER MODEL 32V WITH A 2001 WORKHORSE P30 CHASSIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO PARK GEAR AND IT WOULD ROLL AWAY. OCCASIONALLY, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK AND WHEN HE SHIFTED INTO DRIVE FROM PARK, IT WOULD NOT RELEASE AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER EIGHT TIMES AND REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERS POSSESSION WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,241.
