The defect: Xos, Inc. (Xos) is recalling certain 2021-2022 SV05 vehicles. The electronic parking brake may malfunction or fail to engage without warning to the driver.
The risk: Electronic parking brake failure may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the electronic parking brake controller system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 19, 2024. Owners may contact Xos customer service at 1-818-316-1890. Xos's number for this recall is REC 004-23.

PARKING BRAKE

The defect: Xos, Inc (Xos) is recalling certain 2021-2022 SV05 and 2021 SA01 vehicles. The bolts and brackets connecting the hardware to the electronic parking brake system may come loose, causing the parking brake to fail.
The risk: Electronic parking brake failure can result in a rollaway if the vehicle is not in park with the manual park brake engaged, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the affected hardware and update the vehicle software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. Owners may contact Xos customer service at 1-818-316-1890. Xos's number for this recall is REC 003-23.

The defect: Xos, Inc. (Xos) is recalling certain 2021 RM01, SA01, and 2021-2022 SV05 vehicles. The bolts connecting the electronic parking brake rotor to the driveshaft may have been improperly tightened.
The risk: Loose bolts may allow the driveshaft to separate, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the bolts and related hardware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 19, 2023. Owners may contact Xos customer service at 1-818-316-1890. Xos's number for this recall is REC 002-23.

In the event that the Xos stepvan produces a repeatable, loud growling noise during driving, coasting or braking from the driveline, please follow this instruction to replace the motor mounts and center the electronic parking brake (“EPB”) rotor.

In the event of a request for aftermarket installation of Anti-theft device to a 2021-2022 Xos Step Van, please refer to the following installation instructions. Please note that, as an aftermarket genuine Xos item, the anti-theft device is not covered under warranty, but rather an optional spec item.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION BATTERY:THERMAL MANAGEMENT:AIR HANDLING/FILTRATION; EQUIPMENT

In the event that Service Dashboard recommends replacing the Desiccant Dehumidifier Filters of the 2021-2022 Xos Step Vans, please refer to the following service instructions. Please note that Desiccant filters are consumable items, not covered under warranty, but rather preventative maintenance items. Filters should be changed every 20,000 miles or if noted otherwise during multipoint inspection.
