What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Brakes
Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim
I'VE NOW EXPERIENCED A BRAKE FAILURE TWICE WHEN THE TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW OR NEAR FREEZING. I'VE STARTED THE CAR AND STARTED DRIVING. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 FEET INTO THE DRIVE. WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES GOT LITTLE TO NO BRAKE POWER CAUSING THE CAR TO ROLL EVENTUALLY COMING A STOP AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT 10 FEET WITH THE BREAKS FULLY APPLIED. THE SECOND INCIDENT, I DROVE FOR ABOUT 100 FEET AND WHEN APPLIED THE BRAKES GOT ALMOST NO BRAKING POWER AGAIN CAUSING THE CAR TO TRAVEL AT LEAST 20-30 FEET BEFORE STOPPING. IN BOTH CASES: - TEMPERATURES WHERE NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING. FIRST TIME ABOUT 30 DEGREES, SECOND TIME 18 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT - THIS WAS THE FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY AND HAPPENED AFTER TRAVELING APPROX. 10 FT THE FIRST TIME, AND THEN 100 FT THE SECOND TIME. - AFTER THE FAILURE, BREAKS STARTED TO WORK NORMALLY AFTER PUMPING THE PEDALS AND BREAKING SLOWLY A FEW TIMES. IT ALMOST FELT AS IF THE BREAKING MECHANISM WAS FROZEN, THEN DEFROSTED AFTER SOME USE. - THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT AS IT DID NOT TRAVEL MUCH DURING THE FAILURE. ALMOST THE SAME FEEL WHEN THE CAR IGNITION IS OFF. - THERE WAS NO SNOW OR ICE ON THE ROAD, SO THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SKIDDING, JUST PLAIN BRAKE FAILURE. - DRIVING WAS ON PAVED CITY STREETS THIS CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED BY AN ACURA / HONDA DEALER ALWAYS PER MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. *TR

Steering
Reports naming the steering system — racks, columns, power-steering assist and steering linkage.
From owner reports, verbatim
THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND ALTHOUGH ITS A 2011 IT ONLY HAS ABOUT 60,000 MILES. RECENTLY WE WERE DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE (WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN) AND THE "CHECK POWER STEERING" MESSAGE CAME ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY, AND RIGHT AFTER THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN/LOCKED UP. WE PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE NEXT EXIT AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, AS IT SUGGESTED - AND IT FIXED IT TEMPORARILY. BUT IT DID THE SAME THING TWO MORE TIMES ON SECONDARY ROADS AS WE LIMPED THE CAR HOME. LUCKILY WE WERENT FAR AWAY. HER MECHANIC REPLACED THE ENTIRE EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING) SYSTEM, WHICH WAS PRETTY EXPENSIVE - BUT THIS SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE SINCE WE WERE MOVING AT ABOUT 65MPH WHEN IT OCCURRED. IM LOOKING INTO IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL SINCE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE STATING THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEM.
