What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1992 Ags Fuel Filter, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I AM CHOOSING TO STAY ANONYMOUS FOR FEAR OF RETRIBUTION BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE PRODUCT IN QUESTION IS A HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINE UNION, MANUFACTURED AND DISTRIBUTED BY AGS COMPANY AUTOMOTIVE SOLUTIONS, 2651 HOYT ST., MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN. THE PRODUCT, PART NUMBER BLU-3 IS A STEEL UNION USED TO JOIN (2) 3/16" BRAKE LINES WITH INVERTED FLARE SEATS. IT IS WIDELY DISTRIBUTED IN THE AFTERMARKET AS WELL AS USED IN A VARIETY OF KITS THAT THEY SELL. THE INTERNAL THREADS ARE MALFORMED AND NOT TRUE TO THE CENTERLINE OF THE FITTING. ADDITIONALLY, THE SEAT AREA THAT BISECTS THE FITTING IS NOT CENTERED. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THESE TWO NON-CONFORMING ISSUES COULD LEAD TO THE FITTING LEAKING OR WORSE DETACHING IN USE, LEADING TO A CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE.*DT *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
