The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025-2026 AM Series Aerial Device vehicles. The emergency stop switch located at the turntable is inoperative when the upper controls interlock is active and allows the upper and lower controls to remain powered when the emergency stop is depressed.
The risk: An inoperative emergency stop switch increases the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will notify owners to inspect for the presence of an adapter harness. If installed, the owner will be instructed to notify Altec, and no further action is needed. If the harness is not installed, Altec will provide a kit to complete the repair, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3307.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
