The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2024 AC series cranes. The crane outrigger shoes may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause them to crack and fail under load, reducing the cranes stability.
The risk: A loss of stability during operation could cause the crane to fall, increasing the risk of an injury.
The remedy: Altec will replace the outrigger shoes, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3194.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Altec has learned that trailers with incandescent lighting are not compatible with the Altec supplied trailer plug on certain Altec units mounted on Freightliner M2 Plus and Legacy Chassis built from 2023 to 2025. This can cause the trailer lights to not turn on. The Altec supplied trailer plug is rated for LED lights and meets build specifications.

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from WIKA Mobile Control that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety, compliance, or emissions in a vehicle you possess that is equipped with Altec equipment. WIKA Mobile Control has decided a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Altec cranes equipped with S9 WIKA computers.
