The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device, 2022-2024 Forestry Body, 2022-2025 Service Body, and 2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.
The risk: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the labels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 7, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN CSN-3251.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES

Altec has learned that the trailer wiring harness on certain Freightliner chassis with Altec forestry bodies manufactured from July 2021 to February 2025 supplies constant voltage to the trailer brakes, causing the trailer brakes to always be engaged.

Altec has learned that the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and gross axle weight rating (GAWR) placard on the door jamb lists the incorrect weights on various units built from December 2021 to February 2025. This could lead to unintentional overloading, which could damage the vehicle.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition.
