2021 Aprilia Tuono 660

I purchased the bike in Feb 2023 and the fuel gauge has gone bad. Problem is wide spread with this and I have seen and documented people having the same issue with the whole line of their bikes. I believe since this was part of the gas tank and the tank could possibly leak where the float sensor connects to the tank itself, it should fall under the EPA warranty. At first they will going to honor my request to just replace the float switch inside. However, they have came back to me stating the bike is just out of warranty and refuse to cover the part. The bike would have to be taken to a authorized dealer which is more than an hour away from me. I tried speaking to them telling them that I called the dealer and they were really backed up and no able to take the bike in at the time (called in Oct of 2023) My 2 year warranty ended in December 23. However, at that time, I was told the bike is covered and not ending in December. However the shop still, up to this day, says that they are full on bikes atm and I would have to wait to bring it. This part is known to fail, aprilia knows its known to fail and it seems like this item should be recalled. It could lead to more issues down the road with the gas tank.

We hereby inform you that with regard to the rear brake system on the vehicles in question, in the event that an annoying noise occurs during use, which can be presented as a low or high frequency whistle, this can be eliminated with the operation described below. • For the high frequency whistle it is necessary to check the presence of the antivibration plates located between the pads and the callipers. • For the low frequency whistle the problem is due to the presence of play between the slot on the fixing plate of the rear brake caliper and the anti-rotation pin; this play must be eliminated by pre-loading the rear brake caliper support plate clockwise.

We hereby inform you that, after updating the P.A.D.S. diagnostic tool to the latest release available, a software update is available relating to the calibration of the instrument panel of the aforementioned model(s). The operation referred to above is to be included in the normal maintenance activities to be carried out at the same time as the pre-delivery, during the activities scheduled for services, or on the first convenient passage in the Workshop for vehicles in circulation.
