A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.

The purpose of this is to alert dealer/owners that there are potential unprotected circuits. This is for 2019-2026 SOM/SOF units that we are adding thermal protection.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Step 1: Add 5/16" ring terminal to Viair compressor power wires. See Figure 1. Install ring terminal, Typ. Both compressors. Loom wires together. Step 2: Drill mounting holes in compressor box tray. Follow instructions on paper template to drill holes in compressor box tray. Step 3: Install isolators on tray. Discard isolators that come with Viair compressor. Use isolator #2002833 (Figure 2) to mount Viair compressors to box tray (8-PLCS). Step 4: Install air filters on compressors. Discard plastic ring on air filters. Use Teflon tape on threads. Install filters on compressors (Figure 3). Step 5: P-Clamp Securement. Through bolt 7/8" P-clamps (qty 2) to box tray to secure "T" fitting (Figure 4). Step 6: Power wires. Wire Viair compressors identical to the Thomas compressor wiring.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
