The defect: Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is recalling certain 2023 PL500, 2023-2024 PL700, 2023-2025 RM500, RM900, ST450, 2024-2025 PL550, PL750, 2024 PR300, 2025 RM450, RM550, and RM800. A software error may cause the radio and speakers to overheat.
The risk: Overheated radio and speakers increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy: ATC will work with Maxxsonics to mail instructions and a USB with a software update. All speakers will be inspected and replaced as necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 24, 2025. Owners may call ATC customer service at 1-877-441-2440 ext. 342.

During driving and towing the trailer under proper weight, the receiver assembly (the bolts that hold down the hitch receiver) came apart (snapped) out of the frame assembly of the trailer. This trailer is a 2025 ATC and remains under warranty. We were under weight with correct tongue weight. Upon review, the aluminum structure that held the receiver assembly onto the frame was not engineer correctly and comes apart. It is not designed for the weight in which the trailer is designed to take. This caused the hitch receiver to loosen while driver and the trailer became free of the hitch and was held only by the electrical connections. This is a significant safety issue. We contacted the selling dealer who indicated that this just happened to him (Seperately ) and he knows of several other people. I attempted to make contact with the manufacturer's representative who has not been attentive to this matter and moreover fails to understand the potential life threatening situation this could be by a trailer coming apart from its receiver.
