2000 Audi A8 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2000 Audi A8. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM COVERED UNDER RECALL 01V259000 FOR YEAR 2000 AUDI A8S, BUT I'M TOLD MY CAR IS "OUTSIDE THE BUILD DATE" COVERED. I HAVE A LARGE FUEL VAPOR LEAK AT THE FUEL FILLER NECK / EXPANSION TANK, WHICH WAS THE SUBJECT OF THE RECALL, BUT I CALLED AUDI AND THEY ARE DENYING COVERAGE OF MY CAR. I CANNOT SMOG THE CAR WITHOUT THIS BEING FIXED, AND THE CAR IS LEAKING FUEL VAPORS INTO THE ATMOSPHERE, CAUSING POLLUTION, AND RISKING A POSSIBLE FIRE. *TR

ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WENT FLAT. THIS WAS CAUSED BY A BEADING PROBLEM BEING TO CLOSE TO THE RIMS WHICH DIDN'T ALLOW THE TIRE TO WHOLE AIR. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK *SC *JB
