2012 Bigtex 25GN Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

PROVIDER TRAILER TIRE DEFECT 235/85/16 LOAD RANGE E WHILE DRIVING MY BIG TEX TRAILER I BEGAN TO NOTICE A REPETITIOUS VIBRATION WHICH I INITIALLY BELIEVED TO BE THE DRIVELINE OF MY FORD F-350 DUALLY, I PULLED OFF AN EXIT ON I-75 AND INSPECTED THE TIRES ON MY TRUCK AND TRAILER AS WELL CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURES, THE TIRES ON THE TRAILER WERE ALL FOUND TO BE 78-80PSI, I CONTINUED ON MY TRIP AND ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER THE REPETITIOUS VIBRATION BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND MORE SEVERE AND A MOMENT AFTER THAT THE LEFT FRONT INSIDE TIRE FAILED AND FAILED/ TREAD SEPARATION, I INSTALLED THE SPARE WENT TO A TIRE STORE AND HAD IT REPLACED. THINKING NOTHING MORE I CONTINUED, THEN APPROXIMATELY 250 MILES LATER A VIBRATION BEGAN AND THEN THE RIGHT FRONT OUTER TIRE EXPLODED AT 65MPH AND CAUSED THE TRAILER TO SWERVE INTO A CONCRETE BRIDGE EMBANKMENT, THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. I PULLED OVER AND REPLACED THAT TIRE WITH A SPARE AND THEN CONTACTED A 24HR ROAD SERVICE PROVIDER WHOM BROUGHT A REPLACEMENT TIRE AND MOUNTED UP FOR ME. I THEN PROCEEDED FURTHER AND ABOUT 15 MILES FROM HOME THE VIBRATION RETURNED. I THEN TOOK THE TRAILER INTO THE SHOP AND ASKED THAT ALL THE TIRES BE REPLACED, WHEN THEY REMOVED THE TIRES THEY SHOWED ME THAT THE 3RD PROVIDER RADIAL TIRE WAS SEPARATING, I HAVE NOW REPLACED ALL OF THESE TIRES, I HAVE RETAINED ALL OF THEM FOR RETRIBUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THESE TIRES ARE LESS THAN FOUR YEARS OLD AND HAVE LESS THAN 4000 MILES ON THEM, AND HAVE BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED FOR INFLATION. IN ADDITION THE SHOP IS TELLING ME THAT I HAVE OTHER DAMAGE DUE TO THE TIRE FAILURE BEING EVALUATED RIGHT NOW. THE TIRES ARE MANUFACTURED BY A TEXAS COMPANY CALLED TASKMASTER, THE FORMS ON THIS DEFECT REPORTING DON'T EVEN LIST TASKMASTER OR PROVIDER, SO NOT CERTAIN WHOM BUILDS THE TIRES? IT LOOKS LIKE MAYBE BUILT BY :SHANDONG LINGLONG TYRE CO., LTD.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
