SCOOTER PURCHASED ON MAY 28, 2019 AND SERVICED ON AUGUST 27, 2019 DEALERSHIP INFORMED SON THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON BRAKE CALIPERS AND NO REMEDY. RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED ON OCTOBER 18, 2019. SCOOTER HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE END OF AUGUST 2019. A REMEDY FOR THE BRAKE CALIPER IS SUPPOSEDLY NOW AVAILABLE AND NOW ANOTHER RECALL HAS BEEN RECEIVED FOR THE THROTTLE. MY SON CONTINUES TO PAY ON THE LOAN AND HAS ONLY HAD LESS THAN THREE MONTHS OF USAGE ON A BRAND NEW SCOOTER. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE SERIOUS THREATS TO LIFE AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO THE BODY. THE BRAKES MAKE A LOUD NOISE WHEN OPERATING THE SCOOTER WHICH IS WHY IT HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
