2006 BMW R 1200 Gs Adventure Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYING 1/2 TANK OF FUEL WHEN TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. MOTORCYCLE RAN OUT OF FUEL ON BUSY FREEWAY WITH LIMITED SHOULDER ACCESS. WAS ALMOST HIT BY NUMEROUS CARS GETTING TO A SAFE PLACE. FUEL LEVEL STRIP HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND IS AGAIN NOT WORKING. THIS IS VERY COMMON ON THESE MOTORCYCLES, AND DANGEROUS AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL BE OUT OF GAS. *TR
