What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2009 BMW R 1200 R US, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ENGINE RANDOMLY (SO RANDOM I CANNOT RECREATE) STALLS AT ANY ALTITUDE BUT MORE SO AT HIGH ALTITUDE BY SIMPLY PULLING IN THE CLUTCH LEVER. THIS CONDITION IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD INVOLVE REAR END COLLISIONS OR OTHER. BMW HAS NOT RESPONDED TO DEALERSHIP OR MYSELF WITH A FIX FOR THIS CONDITION. THIS COMPLAINT PERTAINS TO A 2009 K1300GTG BUT CONTINUED SUBMISSION UNDER DIFFERENT MODEL BECAUSE WEBSITE WOULDN'T PERMIT CONTINUING UNLESS A KNOWN MODEL WAS SELECTED FROM THE DROP DOWN MENU. *TR
