What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2015 BMW S 1000 R, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE ENGINE STOPS RUNNING WHILE COMING TO A STOP, WHILE STOPPED OR WHEN TAKING OFF. ALWAYS IN FIRST GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH DISENGAGED OR WHILE ENGAGING TO TAKE OFF. THE ENGINE USUALLY RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY BUT NOT ALWAYS. A FEW TIMES I'VE HAD TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND BACK ON TO GET THE BIKE TO RESTART. INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. *TR
