1995 Cadillac Eldorado Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1995 Cadillac Eldorado, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ON 12/98, WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT 38,000 MI., CODE PO39 SET AS PER YOUR 'SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 98876517'. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CADILLAC REPAIR CENTER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE ORIGINAL PCM PROM CHIP WITH AN EPROM 3.670 #16266767. IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE NEW CHIP DID NOT 'FIX' THE PROBLEM BUT ALLOWED THE ONBOARD COMPUTER TO IGNORE IT, AND NOT SET THE CODE PO39. NOW, 17,000 MI. LATER AND OUT OF WARRENTY A CODE PO56 IS SETTING. THIS IS THE 'TRANAXLE INPUT SPEED SENSOR' A $10.00 ITEM THAT REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE TRANSMISSION FOR REPAIR!
