The defect: CARRIAGE IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH DIMPLEX ELECTRAFLAME, SYMPHONY, OR OPTIFLAME BRANDED ELECTRIC FIREPLACES, STOVES, AND FIREPLACE INSERTS. THE PLUG IN REMOTE CONTROL RECEIVER FOR THE FIREPLACE CAN OVERHEAT.
The risk: AN OVERHEATED RECEIVER COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
The remedy: CARRIAGE IS WORKING WITH DIMPLEX AND DIMPLEX WILL PROVIDE OWNERS A FREE REPLACEMENT PLUG-IN REMOTE CONTROL KIT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 28, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DIMPLEX NORTH AMERICA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-888-346-7539.

3 TOW MAX RADIAL STR TRAILER TIRES PURCHASED ON 4/30/14. 1 YEAR AND 2 WEEKS LATER ALL 3 TIRES BLEW IN THE SAME DAY ROUGHLY 100 MILES APART. 2 OF THE 3 BLOWOUTS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE 2006 CARRIAGE COMPASS TRAILER WHEEL WELL AREA AND UNDERBELLY.

WE WHERE HEADING HOME AFTER SPENDING 2 MONTHS IN WINTERHAVEN, CA. I WAS DRIVING TOWARD QUARTZSITE, AZ. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 37 MILES FROM THERE WHEN I NOTICED SOMETHING AT THE CURB SIDE REAR CORNER. I WAS DRIVING AT 62 MILES PER HOUR AND SLOWED DOWN AND FOUND A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OFF. WHEN I WENT BACK TO CHECK WHAT WAS THERE I FOUND THE REAR TIRE AND THE BACK AXLE HAD COMPLETELY LOST ITS TREAD AND DID CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. I THEN HAD ROAD SERVICE COME OUT AND CHANGE THE TIRE. I WENT TO QUARTZSITE TO AMERICAN TIRE STORE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TIRE. I HAD THE TIRE PERSON CHECK THE TIRE AND HE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A BAD TIRE. I THEN CHECKED THE OTHER TIRES THAT WERE STILL ON THE GROUND AND FOUND THAT TWO OF THESE HAD LARGE KNOTS INDICATING SEPARATION. THE TIRES HAD THE CORRECT PRESSURE AND HAD LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON THEM. I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND. AS THE TIRE PERSON WAS DISMOUNTING EACH TIRE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES THAT WERE ON THE GROUND HAD THE VALVE STEMS INCORRECTLY MOUNTED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CARRIAGE COMPASS. THE VEHICLE HAS POWER KING TOMAX ST, SIZE ST235/80/R16 TIRES (NA). ONE OF THE TIRES EXPLODED AND DAMAGED HIS FIFTH WHEEL VEHICLE. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE ROAD. HE SENT A LETTER TO THE TRAILER AND TIRE MANUFACTURERS, BUT HAS NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE TIRES HAVE ALWAYS HAD SCHEDULED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS 80 PSI. NO OTHER VEHICLE INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES OF THE TIRE AND VEHICLE WERE 12,800. UPDATED 01/24/08 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSE FOR ALL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF REPAIRS AND THE COST OF THE TRIP MISSED DUE TO THE DEFECT OF THE TRAILER. UPDATED 01/24/08 *TR
