The defect: EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: ELECTRONICALLY UNIT INJECTED DIESEL ENGINES USED IN COMBINATION WITH EATON 10 AND 18 SPEED AUTOSHIFT TRANSMISSIONS. THE ENGINES CAN STALL BECAUSE OF SOFTWARE PROBLEMS.
The risk: INCREASED STEERING EFFORT CAN OCCUR.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL UPDATE THESE ENGINES WITH SOFTWARE CHANGES.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT

The new 571-9902 Cylinder Head Gasket kit has funnel seals that divert oil from the cylinder head back into the oil drain passage in the block. This oil diversion prevents oil from collecting between the cylinder block and the spacer plate gasket (shim gasket).
