The defect: ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SERIES 0307, HR0307A, HR0307B, HR1000A OR HR1500HB HY--RAIL GUIDE WHEEL EQUIPMENT, THESE STEERING STOPS MAY NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
The risk: DAMAGE OCCURS TO THE VEHICLE COMPONENTS AROUND THE RIMS ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR WIRES COULD BE CUT.
The remedy: THE VEHICLE'S FRONT TIRES, WHEELS, UPPER CONTROL ARMS, AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR WIRES WILL BE INSPECTED. IF ANY DAMAGE, WEAR, NICKS, GOUGES, CUT OR FRAYED WIRES, ARE FOUND, CONTROL ARM GUARD PLATES WILL BE NEEDED AND/OR THE STEERING STOPS WILL BE REPLACED. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR WIRES WILL ALSO BE RELOCATED. OWNERS WERE NOTIFIED ON FEBRUARY 23, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HARSCO AT 1-507-235-7212.

Safety recall
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Safety investigation
NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
