DASH BOARD CRACKING AND FALLING APART. I REMOVED THE DASHMAT TO CLEAN UNDER AND SEEN ALL THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING.
TAKATA RECALL AND THE REMEDY TO FIX IT IS UNAVAILABLE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. GM KEEPS TELLING ME THAT I HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY FAILED, THE RADIO WAS INOPERATIVE, AND THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER FIVE MINUTES, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED SPORADICALLY FOR SIX WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BLEECKER CHEVROLET, 1200 CUMBERLAND STREET, DUNN, NC 28334) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX] THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
