1998 Chevrolet B7 Medium Duty Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1998 Chevrolet B7 Medium Duty, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

MY 1998 CHEVY LUMINA LS IS NOT ON THE RECALL L LIST FOR ENGINE FIRE RISK EVEN THOUGH TWO LOCAL CHEVY DEALERS HAVE TOLD ME MY AUTO HAS THAT SAFETY RISK. THE AUTO HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT NEED FIXING BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ABOUT $400 TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY CHECKED TO SEE IF MY AUTO WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT IT IS NOT. WHY NOT? FUEL AND OIL ARE LEAKING. ABOUT TO PUT ON 30,000 MILES ON THE CAR. TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW CAR BUT CANNOT USE THE NEW CARS WITH SHIFT BETWEEN SEATS DUE TO HAND AND SHOULDER PROBLEMS. *TR
