Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Chevrolet C/K Series, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY FAILED AT 33,000 WITH AN OUT OF POCKET COST TO ME OF $300. THIS IS ON A 2001 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXTENDED CAB. THERE WERE NO CONSEQUENCES OF THE FAILURE AS I HAD IT REPLACED. HOWEVER THE CONSEQUENCES COULD BE LIFE THREATENING SHOULD REPAIRS NOT BE PERFORMED IN TIME. WHILE AT THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED TO ME THEY REPLACE THIS ITEM TO THE TUNE OF 2 OR 3 VEHICLES EVERY OTHER DAY! I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD REPORT THIS ISSUE TO YOU BUT IF THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS TRUTHFUL THERE IS A GIGANTIC PROBLEM WITH THESE. *NM
