1999 Chevrolet Conventional Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

IN APRIL, 2005 I STARTED TO HAVE THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE TRY TO KICK INTO ABS WHEN I WAS COMING TO A STOP IN MY 99 CHEVY TAHOE. IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AND WHEN THE TRUCK WAS AT A VERY SLOW SPEED, ALMOST STOPPED. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE PART THAT WAS REPLACED WAS NOTED ON THE RECEIPT AS A LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING. ONCE THAT WAS FIXED, THAT BRAKING PROBLEM STOPPED. *JB

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
