1995 Chevrolet G Series Problems
Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1995 Chevrolet G Series, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

From owner reports, verbatim
CONSUMER HAS APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ABS BRAKES MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT 14,000 MILES, THE SECOND TIME 18,000 MILES. THEN THEY GROUNDED THE RIMS AT 24,000 MILES, CHANGING ROTORS AND PADS. AGAIN AT 32,000 MILES CHANGED ROTORS AND PADS. *AK

Seat belts
Reports naming seat belts, buckles, retractors and pretensioners.
From owner reports, verbatim
I ONLY USED THE SOFA REAR SEAT OCCASIONALLY. HAD A CHILD USING IT LAST FRIDAY AND HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP. THE SEAT BELT CAME APART AND I FOUND THAT IT HAD BEEN PIECED TOGETHER WITH STAPLES. THE CONVERSION COMPANY REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. AFTER THEY FOUND OUT I ONLY HAD 14,000 MILES ON THE VAN, THAT AGREED TO SUPPLY THE PART, BUT THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE LABOR. I HAVE HAD THE VAN FOR 4 YEARS, BUT PREVIOUSLY ONLY USED IT TO TRANSPORT A HANDICAPPED CHILD IN THE FRONT OR MIDDLE AREAS. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT THE CHILD IN THE FAULTY SEAT BELT WAS NOT INJURED. I FEEL THAT THE CONVERSION COMPANY WHO INSTALLED THE BELT WAS NEGLIGENT AND IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR INJURY.
ARMREST HOLDS SEAT BELT AGAINST PILLAR. *SD
