1999 Chevrolet G3 Van Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Crash reported2 injuries reported

WE HAVE COMPANY VEHICLES THAT HAVE FIRESTONE STEEL TEX RADIAL R45 TIRES ON THEM, WE HAVE HAD 3 OCCURENCES IN WHICH THE TIRES HAVE BLOWN. THEY LOOK LIKE THE TREAD HAS JUST BEEN PEELED OFF. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THE LATER 2 OF THESE OCCURENCES, BUT ONE BLOW OUT DID INJURE NOT ONLY AN EMPLOYEE BUT ANOTHER PERSON, AND DID TOTAL A VEHICLE. WE DO STILL HAVE THESE ON SOME OTHER OF OUR VEHICLES. I DO KNOW THAT THEY DID HAVE A RECALL ON THESE TYPE OF TIRES IN MAY, BUT THEY SAY THEY HAVE ALL DAMAGED TIRES IN HAND, BUT I AM NOT SO SURE ABOUT THAT, SINCE WE ARE EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS WITH THESE SAME TYPES OF TIRES. I AM INCLUDING THE DATE OF THE LAST OCCURENCE, AND WILL SUPPLY DATES OF THE OTHER 2 WHEN AVAILABLE. *LA
