1995 Chevrolet K3500 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1995 Chevrolet K3500, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ON MARCH 21, 2004 IWAS TRAVELING FROM MIAMI TO ORLANDO WHEN ONE OF MY TRUCK TIRE BLEW THE TREAD OFF THE TIRE. AT THIS TIME I SAW A FHP AND STOP TO REPORT THE THE INCIDENT(REPORT # 02273824) THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAPPENS WITH THIS TIRES, I STILL HAVE FOUR MORE INSTALL ON MY TRUCK AND I'M AFRAID THAT SOMETHING WORSE OCCOURS WITH THIS TIRES. *AK

NHTSA ID 10067585 · filed Apr 21, 2004

THIS IS THE SECOND TIRE REPLACED DUE TO TREAD SEPERATION, THE FIRST OCCURED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND I DIDNT THINK THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE TIRE AT THAT TIME, NOW THOUGH I FELT 2 FAILURES WERE TOO TO MANY, I CONTACTED FIRESTONE AND THEY MADE ME SEND THE ORIGINAL TIRE TO THEIR NASHVILLE TIRE CENTER FOR TESTING. I HAVE RECIEVED COMPENSATION FOR THE DAMMAGE AND PRO-RATED TIRE REPLACEMENT, BUT NOW FEEL THERE MAY BE OTHER UNSAFE TIRES ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE MADE ONE ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED AT A L;OCAL DEALERSHIP BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN WILLING TO ACCEPT THEM UNDER THE CURRENT RECALL. I CURRENTLY HAVE A TIRE VIBRATION THAT MAY BE RELATED TO OUT-OF ROUND TIRES OR TIRE SEPERATION PROBLEMS, AS I HAVE HAD THEM RE-BALANCED AND ROTATED WITHIN THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. I BELIEVE THESE IS RELAVANCE TO THE SAME PLANT THAT MANUFACTURES THE CURRENT RECALLED TIRES AND MINE, BOTH IN DECATUR ILL.( DOT NUMBER: VDOR1WW484 TIRE SIZE: LT23585R16 )
