1992 Chevrolet P30 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE GM ENGINEERS MUST HAVE BEEN DRUNK OR ON COCAINE WHEN THEY DESIGNED OEM FACTORY DEFECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANELS WITH STEPPER MOTORS FOR MY 92 SOUTHWIND RV. THESE ARE THE SAME RETARDS WHO DESIGNED AND PUT 12 VDC FUEL PUMPS IN THE GAS TANKS. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER IN MY RV IS AN OEM FACTORY DEFECT FROM DAY ZERO. I WANT IT REPLACED WITH A TRUE ANALOG INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL SO I CAN SEE HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE, WHAT MY ODOMETER READING IS, WHAT MY SPEED IS, OIL PRESSURE, WATER TEMP, BATTERY CONDITION, ETC. *TR

THE AUTO PARK BRAKE ON OUR 1992 SAFARI MOTORHOME ON A CHEVY P30 CHASSIS LOCKS UP WHEN PUT INTO PARK AND WILL NOT RELEASE. MORE SIGNIFICANTLY THE AUTO PARK BRAKE ATTEMPS TO LOCK WHILE IN MOTION. AFTER REVIEWING THE WWW, I HAVE LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT MANY RVERS FACE. THE GMC WORKHORSE DEALER THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS CHASSIS CANNOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. GM DOES NOT APPEAR TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. MANY RVERS ARE REPORTING THAT THEIR "SOLUTION" IS TO DISABLE THE PARKING BRAKE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY UNDESIRED.*AK

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
