Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2002 Chevrolet Pickup, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE DRIVING HAD TO GO OFF ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION
MAY OF 2012 THE BRAKE LINE ON THE FRAME RAIL UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT FAILED, AUGUST 2013 BRAKE LINE FAILED IN TWO PLACES AT THE SAME TIME JUST AFTER A STATE INSPECTION,REPAIRED,AND ANOTHER BRAKE LINE 1 FOOT FROM THE MASTERCYLINDER ALONG THE DRIVERS SIDE FRAME RAIL JUST HOURS AFTER THE LAST REPAIR, I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED TO JUST MY TRUCK FAILURE G.M. HAS KNOWN FOR SOMETIME NOW THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH LOW GRADE METAL BEING USED ON THEIR TRUCKS BUT IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH TO ADDRESS, SO INSTEAD THE PUBLIC SAFETY IS BEING JEOPARDIZED OVER COSTS I AM POSITIVE IF SOMEONE WOULD CHECK BRAKE RELATED CRASHES THEY WOULD BE SHOCKED AT THE RESULTS OF THE FAILURES OF THESE TRUCKS. *TR
