What component failed: The “regen on demand” switch broke while using it. Safety: This incident put me, the occupants of my vehicle (my children), and the vehicles around me at risk. Reproduction: There was no need. It is exceptional obvious that the switch is broken and has failed. Inspection: The truck and broken switch were observed by the dealership that services the truck. Warnings: There were no precursors to the failure. Narrative: On Thursday, 7/16/26, I was driving my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV. I normally drive in “single pedal drive” mode which provides energy recovery in lieu of mechanical braking. Additionally, I use the “on demand regeneration” for additional slowing and energy recovery. On demand regeneration is somewhere between single pedal drive and mechanical brakes. During this drive I was coming up to stopped traffic and slowing using the regen on demand switch. The switch snapped / broke and the additional slowing / energy recovery stopped instantly. I had to immediately apply the brakes in order to remain a safe distance from the vehicles in front of me. While I am able to safely operate the vehicle without this function, the manner in which the failure occurred is concerning and should be investigated. I am happy to speak with anyone who needs more information.
While driving at an undisclosed speed, the adaptive cruise control set speed independently changed. No warning lights were illuminated. The adaptive cruise control was set at 65 MPH, and the adaptive cruise control independently reset to 42 MPH. In addition, on another occasion, the adaptive speed control was set at 65 MPH, however the adaptive cruise control independently reset to 80 MPH. The adaptive cruise control and the failure reoccurs based upon the front camera interpreting the speed limit signs on the roadway. The adaptive cruise control adjusts the speed based on the interpretation of the speed limit sign and the difference between the prior speed limit sign at the set speed. For example the last read speed limit sign was 65 MPH. Adaptive cruise control was set to 75 MPH, a 10 MPH difference. The newest detected speed limit sign was misread at 75. The adaptive cruise control independently changed to 85. The same occurs when the misread speed limit sign was misread at 45 MPH. The adaptive cruise control would independently change to 55 MPH from a 75 MPH previously set speed. The random failures almost caused the vehicle to be rear-ended. The failure occurs several times and usually at dusk, dawn, or at night. To override this random behavior, I disabled the speed limit detection/display feature.

NHTSA SAFETY COMPLAINT – HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY FAULT & LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL Vehicle: chevy Silverado EV LT Mileage at most recent incident: ~5,400+ miles Incident date: December 17, 2025 Description of the Problem This is the third occurrence of a high-voltage battery fault warning, and the second time involving active vehicle malfunction while driving. • First occurrence: ~700 miles then at 1040 miles • High-voltage battery warning displayed • Vehicle taken to dealer and returned the same day • No noticeable drivability issues at that time • Second occurrence: ~5,400 miles • Severe malfunction while driving at highway speed • Vehicle towed to dealer • Dealer initially reported no active codes until video evidence was provided • Third occurrence: 12/17/2025 • High-voltage battery fault warning displayed again • Infotainment and vehicle control screen began glitching again Detailed Description of the Most Severe Incident During the second occurrence, while driving approximately 70–75 mph on the highway in heavy traffic, the following occurred without driver input: • The main display screen began glitching and cycling uncontrollably • One-pedal driving mode activated by itself making the vehicle slow down abruptly ( another vehicle switched lanes to avoid collision ) • Climate control systems turned on and off (A/C and heat) • Tow mode, stability control, and seat heating activated without input • Vehicle behavior changed unexpectedly at highway speeds This created a dangerous and unsafe driving condition. I was able to maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder and exit the highway. Inability to Power Down Vehicle

2026 Silverado TrailBoss EV Windshield has laminate issues causing waves, distortion, and clarity issues. On several occasions this has caused vertigo/motion sickness while driving on the freeway. Vehicle was taken to Chevy dealership on 4/23 this issue has been confirmed and replacement parts on order. Under bumper to bumper warranty.
