Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Chevrolet Ssr, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE TRUCK SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE DEALER SAID THIS IS A BIG ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK. I HAD TO SPEND 600 DOLLARS FOR A NEW BOX. MY ABS PUMP ALSO WENT DEALER SAID THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE HEAT FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THAT THIS IS A BIG ISSUE ON THIS TRUCK ALSO. ALSO THE RUNNING BOARDS ON THE TRUCK WERE CHROME. THEY HAVE PEELED AND STARTED TO FLAKE. THE DEALER SAID IT LOOKS LIKE WATER GOT IN THEM AND CAUSED IT TO DO THAT AND THAT IT WAS ANOTHER PROBLEM ON THIS TRUCK. IT WAS HIT AND MISS ON SOME OF THEM. *TR
ENGINE STALLED, BRAKES FADED AND AUTO STOPPED. ATTEMPTED TO START MANY TIMES (6) BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD START AGAIN.
