Fuel Pump Power Control Module failed. GM Part Number: 13554821 My vehicle immediately became immobilized in a lane of traffic. The engine would crank but not start. It appeared that no fuel was pumped. This was confirmed with engine code P149F. GM diagnostic code P129F indicates a Fuel Pump Driver Control Module (FPDCM) fuel pump speed signal fault… My vehicle with 51,000 miles was serviced on 5/6/2026 for PA inspections, oil change and transmission flush. The VIN has no open recalls. GM has recognized the failure rate of the Fuel Pump Power Control Module, GM Part Number: 13554821 on many 2021vehicles and issued 2 recalls: 21V739000 issued September 23, 2021 And N252516900 issued September 11, 2025 Recall N252516900 was issued as a “phased launch” and yet (per GM) the Reason For This Recall: Certain vehicles may have a condition which can cause the fuel pump power control module to fail. If this were to occur, fuel flow to the engine could be interrupted. And Consequence Summary: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. The vehicle instantly can become immobilized regardless of its location, in the middle of an intersection or in a lane of traffic. Without the engine running, the Tahoe cannot be shifted out of Park and cannot be pulled, pushed or dragged without causing damage. It must be properly loaded on a flatbed and be hauled from the failure site. GM “phased launched” the September 2025 recall to handle parts shortage. GM realizes how CRITICAL this recall is because a vehicle can become totally immobilized instantly. The dealership says my VIN shows no open recalls and are resistant to making a request for authorization to apply this recall. I think the failure of the Fuel Pump Power Control Module needs to be escalated until recall indicates ALL vehicles involved. I am glad I wasn’t entering a busy intersection when my vehicle became fully immobilized. As it was, vehicles were unable to go around for the 45 minutes I waited for a tow truck.

I was driving on the highway and my car lost power and then had to shut down. I am now getting error code P129F. which is a known recall for the fuel pump control module. When I put in my VIN, it doesn’t show my car part of it, but it is a 2021 Tahoe experiencing the exact same issue and getting the same error code that is part of the recall. I also read that it is part of the federal emissions warranty, which is eight year 80,000 miles. My car has 59,000 miles on it and I verify that it’s still under warranty from that standpoint. I want to take it into the dealership on Monday, but I need to know what my options are to get it repaired for free under this recall since currently my car is not coming up via this VIN under this recall

The engine in my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country equipped with the 6.2L V8 (L87) experienced a catastrophic failure. While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power, displayed a “Service ESC” warning, illuminated the check engine light, and unexpectedly shifted into Neutral. After stopping the vehicle, it would not restart. The dashboard would illuminate, but the engine would only produce a faint clicking sound and would not crank. The vehicle was towed to a Chevrolet dealership, where it remains available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This failure occurred while I was driving, causing an unexpected loss of power and propulsion. The vehicle became disabled without warning, creating a significant risk of being struck by surrounding traffic. Losing the ability to accelerate or safely maneuver a full-size SUV in traffic placed both me and other motorists at risk of a serious crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership, Crews Chevrolet. The dealership confirmed that the engine had catastrophically failed and advised that it qualified for replacement under General Motors’ special coverage program for the 6.2L L87 engine. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chevrolet dealership. General Motors has authorized replacement of the engine under its special coverage program. No police report was filed because there was no collision.

DATE: 06/17/2026 The engine shuts off without warning while I am driving, recurring roughly every 10 miles. When it stalls, the dashboard and electrical accessories stay on, but the vehicle loses motive power, along with power steering assist and power brake assist, which is extremely dangerous at road speed and in traffic. This began immediately after dealer service completed on 6/18/2026. During that visit the dealer performed two safety recalls (N252494000, the "L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion" PicoScope inspection with oil change; and N252510321, ECM software reprogramming) and a valve lifter replacement that required removing both cylinder heads. The vehicle was running and fully drivable when I dropped it off, and was returned stalling repeatedly while driving. It never did this before the service. At first the engine would not restart after stalling. The dealer replaced the starter; it now restarts but continues to stall every ~10 miles. A dealer diagnostic scan recorded numerous "Lost Communication" codes across nearly all control modules, plus control-module input-power codes showing low voltage and power-circuit correlation faults (e.g., U3505, U3018, U3007) and an active loss-of-communication code for the power steering module — consistent with an intermittent loss of electrical power or ground affecting engine control. The engine passed the recall's connecting-rod/crankshaft (PicoScope) inspection, so this is not the recalled bearing failure mode. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is undrivable. The dealer has ordered a new engine and apparently also a new radiator for reasons unknown. No crash or injury has occurred to date, but the vehicle lost power while on the freeway at speed multiple times. A GM customer assistance case is open. Repair orders and the diagnostic scan are available on request.

The engine's Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) lifter failed and damaged the camshaft at around 70,700 miles. The broken components are available for inspection upon request. This failure put occupants at risk because the vehicle suddenly lost power, began shaking violently, and could not accelerate safely in traffic. This unexpected loss of propulsion created an immediate collision hazard. The problem was officially diagnosed and confirmed by a repair service center. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. There were no advance warning signs. At the exact moment of the failure, the check engine light started flashing, the car began shaking heavily, and the engine made a loud knocking sound.

Check engine light illuminated on my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Upon diagnostic scan, the following emissions-related fault codes were present: P11D5 (NOx sensor), P14D9 (NOx sensor), P2383 (EGR pressure sensor), and P2C7A (NOx catalytic converter efficiency). All components are available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis. The dealer acknowledged the emissions codes but stated that unrelated components would need to be repaired at owner expense before the emissions system would be addressed, despite these codes falling within the federally mandated 8-year/80,000-mile emissions warranty. The fault codes were confirmed by the dealership. No safety incident has occurred to date, however degraded NOx and EGR function can result in increased harmful emissions output and potential engine performance issues. Warning lamps appeared without prior incident or symptom. The manufacturer has not offered to cover the emissions components under the federal emissions warranty without the owner first paying for additional repairs that may or may not be causally related to the emissions system failure. When the dealer was directly asked, "Are you saying the emissions system itself is functioning correctly, and something else caused these codes to appear?" — the dealer did not provide an answer. This question was asked in order to clarify whether the emissions components themselves are degraded or failed, which would confirm warranty coverage eligibility. The dealer's failure to answer this question directly is noted as part of this complaint.

Since March of 2025 I have identified a critical safety defect with my vehicle. When driving and without warning, the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, experiences a loss of propulsion, and the engine shuts off. This has occurred multiple times in which I narrowly escaped collisions with other vehicles or objects. If this would occur at a high rate of speed, it would certainly result in serious accident including possible fatality. I have experienced three near-accident scenarios when I had children in the vehicle. I have worked with Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land, Texas who has made six attempts at repair. They have each time found a different component attribute to an error code and replaced that part. After each visit they tell me that the car is fixed and safe to drive. They have never been able to provide a clear explanation as to why I am experience this reoccurring issue, but attribute it to a different part each time. Within 5 days to 2 months, the incident repeats. I have recent video of the incident that I can share. Chevrolet Customer Care has been minimized my concern and informs me that their Service staff has found the vehicle to be fully operational and safe to operate. I have spent over $6,000 in failed repairs. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle. That list of repairs includes: March 7, 2025 - battery replacement March 28, 2025 - DC/DC power converter April 22, 2025 - ECM updates January 8, 2026 - •Throttle body replacement •Serpentine belt replacement •Engine air filter replacement •Transmission fluid flush •Coolant fluid flush •Fuel injection cleaning •Hydrogen carbon cleaning service January 23, 2026 - power control module (recall) January 30, 2026 - rear differential system replacement March 10, 2026 - • Replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump • Replacement of the DC power supply converter • Hydrogen carbon cleaning service I can share all invoices. 1ST ISSUE: 9/2025, after driving from another city to my home at 55-75 mph. As I pulled up home, the car just stalled and wouldn't start. I googled issue to find out it was a commonly known issue by GM. If fuel pump control module had happened while driving faster and not on my street to roll up to curb. I would have or could have been deadly. I find out what part # and local dealer knew there was a recall but told me he never heard about it and charged me for part. I installed in front of home on street and have been trying to get money back after reporting to GM I repaired my fuel pump control module and have been trying to get my money back from a repair done on 9/29/2025 by me. GM says it's looking into still after I keep calling them on status of this notice. I still have old part. I have filled out all reimbursement forms.1st the danger of it failing and now no money. By the time engine light comes on you have no power for any stopping or steering. #2 engine 2021 Tahoe High Country 6.2 L V8: NO RECALL HAS BEEN SENT. GM has known about an engine that has multiple failure issues that could GET YOU IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT/death BY JUST STOP RUNNING, while just driving at any moment, INTERNAL FAILURES and main seal leaks, MORE! Mine just poured oil out on driveway after driving 6 miles to church and back. this will be the largest and most deadly auto issue in history. They even had dealers now with any on lot with this engine a stop sale order. aprox. 800,000 of these engines are out there, Local GM dealer says THERE IS NO RECALL. 2021 TO 2026 and they have only changed out aprox. 2800 engines and telling me mine sitting in driveway is not on recall. BS. these engines are in their high-end trucks, SUV's, Escalades. Someone needs to get Gm to do what's right and replace with new engines. That have been tested, all issues before someone has to die. Trying to keep silent on internet is sad. Yes its going to cost billions. But to keep customers safe and not scared.

I was driving down a busy road with my toddler in the car when the car just stopped. Went from traveling 40 mph to a complete standstill. Dead, in the middle of the road. No warning lights or signals at all. Could not get the car in neutral. Wheels locked up and not able to shift to neutral without the car being on, which was not happening. Had to get the car towed to the dealer. The tow truck driver had to drag the car on to the truck. No getting the car in neutral at all. Dealer diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump control module, which after researching is a major problem for this make/model/year. Should most definitely be a recall that has to be remedied by the manufacturer as this is not safe at all. Could have easily been hit due to traveling at a normal speed to stopping so suddenly. Then on top of it, not being able to get in to neutral to get to a safe location out of traffic.

My Tahoe 2021 RST has been leaking what smells like diesel. This goes all the way back only months after I bought it new. This came and went sometimes once a week sometimes once a month. And for the next few years many months I could smell it but no leaks but in the last 10 days the diesel leak has been massive. It leaks from under the engine and if the hood is opened the diesel leak is all over the engine. The smell has been noxious sunce the beginning. Over the years the smell was there off and on. Comes and goes. But the last few months it has been everyday. Apparently the shop had fixed and replaced some parts several weeks ago but the smell of diesel never went away. Now it is in the dealer shop again. Because the fuel leak is too massive and the smell is ever worst.

This seems to be related to the GM issued TSB PIP5964 and the also GM Recall N252516900 . However, GM is denying that our VIN should be affected. I'm concerned that they're not aware of or intentionally excluding vehicles that could have this issue. This vehicle has experienced multiple substantial defects, several of which directly endangered my family, including an infant, and rendered the vehicle unsafe and inoperable for extended periods despite warranty repairs. Summary of defects and failures: 1.Electronic door locking failure The vehicle experienced an electronic malfunction that caused the doors to randomly lock, resulting in my infant being locked inside the vehicle when we exited. This wiring defect was later repaired under warranty but represents a serious safety failure. 2.Fuel pump recall and highway breakdown While driving my family of six on a major highway over an hour from home, the recalled fuel pump failed while in motion, leaving us stranded on the side of the highway. We were forced to arrange an Uber for transportation. This incident placed my family in a dangerous situation and constitutes a major safety-related defect. 3.Transmission failure and extended inoperability The vehicle suffered a transmission failure that rendered it unsafe and inoperable. The dealership required over one week to schedule service and more than two additional weeks before the vehicle was inspected and repaired. The vehicle was out of safe driving condition for approximately one month. Upon return, the vehicle experienced additional failures, including a dead battery. 4.Known poor design defect – rear entertainment screens The rear entertainment system screens cracked due to a widely known poor design and placement issue, unrelated to misuse. 5.Rear headrest internal mechanism failure The internal mechanism of a rear headrest failed and requires replacement, further demonstrating ongoing quality and safety concerns. Due to the number, severity, and safety-related nature of these defects—combined with cumulative downtime exceeding 30 days—I have lost all confidence in this vehicle. I no longer consider it safe or reliable for transporting my family.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Answer: The vehicle’s 6.2L L87 V8 engine suffered a sudden internal mechanical failure involving the connecting rod, rod bearings, and crankshaft assembly, resulting in catastrophic engine damage. The failure mode is consistent with the defect described in GM Recall N252494001. The engine and all damaged components are fully available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Answer: The engine failed without warning while the vehicle was in motion, causing an immediate loss of propulsion. This created a hazardous situation where the vehicle could no longer accelerate or maintain speed in traffic, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control. GM’s own recall documentation identifies this exact failure mode as a significant crash risk, and that same hazard occurred in my case. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Answer: Yes. A service technician confirmed catastrophic internal engine failure consistent with connecting-rod or crankshaft damage. The dealer also verified that the engine is inoperable and requires full replacement. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Answer: No, the engine failed while in motion and was taken to the closest mechanic. Inspections by an insurance representative or manufacturer representative can be arranged. The vehicle and damaged engine remain available for further examination. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Answer: No. There were no warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or drivability symptoms prior to the catastrophic engine failure. The failure occurred suddenly and without any advance indication. All service records are available

However, based on the recall description and the symptoms outlined, I believe my vehicle experienced related issues and should be considered for inclusion. While driving down the highway my vehicle experienced power failure leading to a full stop in the middle of the highway, resulting in a 9-1-1 call due to safety concerns for myself and oncoming traffic. The car was later diagnosed with the fuel pump module failure that other vehicles within the same year & model experienced, which were included in the recall. Why mine wouldn’t be included is quite confusing. I respectfully ask that your team investigate whether my Tahoe meets the criteria for Recall N212332040.
