What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1999 Chevrolet Yukon, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING BACK FROM VISITING FAMILY ON 895N APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES FROM THE HABOR TUNNEL WHEN OUR 1999 CHEVY TAHOE LOST ALL POWER. ALL EMERGENCY LIGHTS WERE LIT ON THE DASHBOARD. WE WERE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH WITH THE A/C ON AND THE SATELLITE RADIO ON. THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND WE KNEW THAT THE ECMB FUSE HAD BLOWN. WE REPLACED THE BLOWN FUSE AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEMS. WE WERE ABOUT 2 MILES OUT OF THE TUNNEL WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AGAIN. THE SAME FUSE WAS BLOWN. THIS HAPPENED 3 ADDITIONAL TIMES IN THE COURSE OF 30 MINUTES. WE WERE IN MODERATELY HEAVY BELTWAY TRAFFIC AND WERE VERY LUCKY THAT NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES OCCURRED IN THE 5 TIMES THE VEHILCLE LOST POWER.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
