What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1995 Chevrolet Z71, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

From owner reports, verbatim
WE OWN TWO CHEVROLET 4 X4 Z 71 PICKUPS AND HAVE HAD INSIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILURES REPEATEDLY ON BOTH VEHICLES. TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK WE HAVE BEEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE HAVE ELECTRIC WINDOWS AND THE KEYS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE! WE HAVE REPLACED THESE DOOR HANDLES ON BOTH PICKUPS AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND THE NEW HANDLES DO NOT LAST MORE THAN 2-3 WEEKS! THESE HANDLES ARE EXPENSIVE AND FAIL SOON AFTER REPLACEMENT. IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE OR ACCIDENT THIS COULD BE FATAL. *JB
