1993 Chrysler Concorde Visibility Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the visibility system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Visibility reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

FIRST THE HEADLIGHT LENSES CLOUDED OVER; HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEN THE INJECTOR SHOT FUEL ON THE ENGINE, CAR CAUGHT FIRE; $3600 IN DAMAGE. THEN THE REARVIEW MIRROR FELL OFF THRICE; BOUGHT A NEW ONE. THE CAR CONSTANTLY RUNS HOT SINCE LAST YEAR; REPLACED COOLING BLOCK; NOW IT ONLY RUNS HOT WHEN IDLING OR IN STOP-N-GO TRAFFIC; HAVE TO RUN THE HEATER TO KEEP IT FROM OVERHEATING; MECHANIC CANT FIND THE CAUSE; AC TEMP CHANGES FROM COOL TO TEPID WHEN CAR IDLES AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT; ONCE CAR BEGINS TO MOVE, AIR RETUNS TO COOL. THE OVERHEAD COMPUTER JUST QUIT, AS WELL AS THE ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT(ECU); ECU REPLACED. WHEN OUTSIDE TEMP DROPS AROUND FREEZING CAR HAS A BANGING NOISE UNDERNEATH, UNTIL IT WARMS UP.
