1991 Chrysler Imperial Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1991 Chrysler Imperial, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

CONSUMER STATED THAT THE FUEL RAIL CRACKED WITHOUT WARNING GAS TO LEAK ONTO THE ENGINE. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS

NHTSA ID 10003708 · filed Jan 14, 2003

THE FUEL RAIL HAS A HAIRLINE CRACK AND IS LEAKING,CREATING A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION EXACTLY LIKE THE LHS MODELS WHICH WERE COVERED BY RECALL AND LISTED ON YOUR WEB SITE. NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 98V184000. THE IMPERIAL MODEL IS THE LHS'S PREDECESSOR.THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS $540.00. I DO NOT THINK A FUEL LINE IS A PLANNED OBSELECENSE ITEM. CHRYSLER HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH FUEL RAILS. I FEEL THE IMPERIAL SHOULD BE COVERED JUST AS THE LHS WAS SINCE THE PROBLEM APPARENTLY BEGAN WITH THE IMPERIALS. I HAVE REQUESTED THE OLD PART FROM THE DEALER. ALSO NOTE ON YOUR CONSUMER COMPLAINT SITE ODI ID: 832841REGARDING THE SAME LEAKING PROBLEM. I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER. *AK
