1995 Cobra Cardinal Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

GOODYEAR MARATHON TRAILER TIRES FAILED - BLEW OUT: HAVE A 1995 CARDINAL TRAILER, ALL HAD GOODYEAR MARATHON TRAILER TIRES, SIZE ST205/75R15. I HAVE TWO OF THE TIRES BLOW UP JUST SITTING ON THE SPARE TIRE HOLDER. A THIRD TIRE COMPLETELY SEPARATED ON THE TRAILER. I CHECKED TODAY, AND THE LAST OF THIS TYPE OF TIRE IS SEPARATING. IT APPEARS THAT THE TOP LAYER OF MATERIAL IS SEPARATING. I TOOK THE TIRE TO DISCOUNT TIRE TO REPLACE IT. THE TREAD IS JUST SPLIT OPEN AND TORN ALL THE WAY AROUND. THIS IS A TOTAL OF FOUR OUT OF FOUR TIRES THAT HAVE FAILED. THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES. I HAVE INCURRED A LOT OF EXPENSE TO REPLACE TIRES THAT PLENTY OF TREAD LIFE. ALL TIRES WERE INFLATED APPROPRIATELY. WHAT IS REALLY CONCERNING TO ME, IS THAT TWO OF THE TIRES BLEW UP JUST SITTING ON THE SPARE TIRE HOLDER. *AK

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
