What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1998 Country Coach Intrigue, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

RECALL CAMPAIGN 01V170000 CONCERNING FMVSS 120 WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION. WHILE DRIVING 30-40 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST HEIGHT CONTROL ON THE LEFT FRONT SIDE. THIS CONDITION CAUSED THE LEFT FRONT TO DROP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT FRONT CONTROL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THE OTHER TWO CONTROL VALVES SHOULD BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE CONSUMER LOOKED ON NHTSA'S WEBSITE AND FOUND THE ABOVE RECALL INFORMATION, AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER'S REPRESENTATIVE, WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL. *AK *SC *JB

CONSUMER'S VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS MENTIONED IN NHTSA RECALL 03V527000. CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES HAVE LOWER PINION BEARINGS IN THE POWER RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY IN WHICH THE RETAINER TABS WERE NOT CRIMPED PROPERLY. THESE RETAINERS COULD FAIL AND PERMIT THE BALL BEARINGS TO ESCAPE. DEALER INDICATED TO THE CONSUMER SORRY THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
